After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Psychology, Rita spent a year working as a counselor for adolescents battling eating disorders at McLean Hospital. She then attended the Yale School of Nursing, after which she received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification. She worked for two years at a small private practice in Queens, New York, before finally returning home to Boston and joining Pediatric Health Care Associates in 2017.
I pursued pediatrics not only because of my love of working with children but also because of my ability to positively influence children’s lives from a very young age in this position. I strive to build trusting relationships with my patients as well as their parents and to support children in improving their level of health by providing compassionate, culturally-competent, and patient-centered care.
