The clinicians and staff of Pediatric Health Care Associates are committed to providing our patients and their families with compassionate, evidence-based, and up-to-date care encompassing all of our patients’ physical, developmental, and emotional needs. We are dedicated to providing these services in an environment which is respectful and collaborative among patients, families, clinicians, and staff.
We strive for excellent access to care without sacrificing continuity. Our goal is to provide compassionate and inclusive care to families while continually working to reduce inequities in health care delivery.
Children don't get sick at convenient times. As a large group practice, PHCA is able to offer extended hours for your convenience. These appointments are available for all our patients, no matter which office your child usually attends. We are committed to seeing our patients whenever possible, so that you might avoid the emergency room for routine pediatric problems. However, should concerns arise outside of our clinic hours, both a triage nurse and on-call pediatrician are available 24 hours a day to help. When emergency services are needed, we are happy to refer our patients to local emergency departments and will work with them to coordinate your child's care.
Pediatricians are trained to address issues regarding the social, emotional, and physical development of children, as well as to treat the unique symptoms children may have during times of illness. The physicians at PHCA are all board-certified in pediatrics and members of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and are therefore committed to lifelong learning regarding pediatric care. The nurse practitioners at PHCA also have advanced pediatric training.
At PHCA, care is focused on your entire family by a doctor that knows you best. Well visits or visits for ongoing problems can always be booked with your child's primary pediatrician or nurse practitioner. Sick appointments are also built into each doctor's daily schedule, so that they may see their patients on an urgent basis. Should your child's provider not be available, our electronic medical record will ensure that all our providers have the most complete information about your child's health at their fingertips.
We are also committed to coordinating your child's medical care. We offer many specialized services right in our own offices, ranging from mental health to lactation support to asthma education.
In addition, in-house laboratory services are available at each office, so that you don't have to make an extra trip with your child if labs are needed. If hospitalization or pediatric specialist care are necessary, our pediatricians are on staff at several local hospitals and are also able to refer to any of the major pediatric hospitals in Boston.
